Fine art photography for children’s fantasy

Fine art photography for children’s fantasy

I did the photo session in my studio for a fine art fantasy portrait for Willow and Magnolia. AS little girls, she wanted to be mermaids and had the most fun ever in a photo session. They didn't want to end posing for me even though normally, both can be on the shy side. I have photograqphed them both since they were days old so they have gotten to know me a bit but the fact that they were in MAKE BELIEVE mode, they really did well. The next step is for me to choose the image that will work best and then I will paint on a canvas the tales and add fish and other effects to make it a complete underwater scene. I have included a similar portrait I did for Samantha of Atlantic Beach and her two babies when it was completed. After I clone the painted tails and all, I will post the final photo painting.

Small infant with family portrait

Small infant with family portrait

Olivia was about 6 pounds at 4 weeks and was a bit cranky and raw so some of the poses that I wanted to accomplish were not possible. She was so beautiful and perfect but needed to be feed constantly to soothe her. I would set a pose/location up and only was able to get a few shots before she would start fussing. We did get a few fleeting moments of a smile here and there. This was her first photo shoot and she did pretty well actually for someone so little. Her mom and dad and aunt were so lovely and sweet. My main concern always is to make sure my littlest subjects are happy. This family will be coming back every two to three months to get another session and at the end of Olivia's first year, I will design a baby book for them. You will be able to see her growth, and the book will have stats of her accomplishments over the year.

Inside of my painting studio

Inside of my painting studio

I used the pano feature on mu cell phone to capture the interior of my painting studio. Its missing the other half to my back but you get the idea. Its only 10x14 feet but has two skylights so I have great light to paint by...and I can sit in my rocking chair enjoying music while I create. I love it!!!
